The meeting was brought to order by Supervisor Moraska. The following Board members were present: Jim Moraska, Jerry Bartnicki, Cherryl Mencinger, Kevin LaBonte, and Chris LeBoeuf. Guests included: Gerald Kleiman, Jim Nowack, Randy Viau, Leon Felch, and Larry Johnson.
No public comment
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:
The motion was made by Chris to approve the agenda with Kevin supporting.
All bills are up to date. A motion was made to accept the Clerks Report by Kevin and was seconded by Chris. Kevin looked over the expense statements. Minutes of the monthly meetings can be viewed on the Township website located at www.powers-spalding.org
Jerry gave the financial hand out showing the Township’s monthly balances and went over the report. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Chris and seconded by Cherryl.
All is well at both taverns and at the grocery store for May.
FIRE REPORT/FIRE CHIEF & FIRE DEPT:
The Department responded to 5 calls costing 0 dollars in losses and spending a total of 12 hour and 27minutes.

Subject: Memo #1 Grants
We did receive an application for the 2022 VFA DNR grant. I did submit the grant application for various hand tools and equipment in the total amount of approximately $4500.00. We were notified we did receive this grant. We have been working on the equipment list and will be working toward ordering the equipment.
2021 AFG Grant
We were fortunate that they extended the grant application deadline to January 21, 2022. I submitted the application for a new fire engine to replace Engine 1 with an amount of $375,000. Our cost share if awarded is $17,857.14. The application was submitted on January 18, 2022. Waiting on award announcement.
We put in a grant for some mechanic tools for the station. Received notification we were awarded the grant. Will start ordering the tools.
Winter burials are done. The high school kids raked and did an amazing job. Memorial Day is coming up, anyone that would like to help at the Cemetery, it would be greatly appreciated.
Park is all open, cleaning and racking etc. High school kids cleaned and also did an amazing job. Jim Nowack questioned if we should change the overhead lights in the pavillion to LED. The Board agreed that was a good idea.
Reality boom came to a slow down, interest rates are on the rise. There is several lots that have buildings on them and don’t show on the GIS mapping.
Jerry gave to the Board copies of the new copier through Cooper Office Equipment, he researched the new copier and the Board decided to go with the new copier, a motion was made by Chris and seconded by Jim.
Our road signs came in for our county roads and the school kids, when they were here on that Friday, put them all together. Total cost was $917.00.
ARPA FUNDS (COUNTY)
Finance Committee meets tomorrow, May 19th, 2022. Larry Johnson, County Commissioner said he would like to see some of the money go to county roads.
WORK AT THE PARK
This work at the Park is now done, the stumps coming up in the roads have been removed and replaced with more gravel.
The sidewalks need to be cleaned and repaired. Jim asked Ray Webber to give us a quote to repair the sidewalks that need it.
The Township received a new contract from our Auditors for another 6 years. Motion to approve the new contract was made by Kevin and seconded by Cherryl, motion approved.
WIND AND SOLAR UPDATE
Kevin researched what was required to have someone who wanted to put in either solar or wind power, because the Township is not zoned we can’t have an ordinance against it.
NEECE OIL CAN NO LONGER SERVICE US (NEED NEW SUPPLIER)
The Township is looking into getting a new supplier. We are looking at getting Insight. We will be getting in touch with them Friday.
FIRE DEPT HANNAHVILLE GRANT APPROVED
It was approved for $2500.00
N.C.A. COMMUNITY DAY HELD
We will be contacting the Lufts Advertizer to have them put in a Thank You to the N.C.A. school kids Thanking them for all the hard work they did at the Park, Cemetery and the Hall/Fd.
CAMERA AT THE PARK
Jim Nowack checked the cameras at the Park and they weren’t recording. Jim called the company that‘s maintaining the cameras and they recommended replacing the cameras. They gave us a price that would give us better coverage for $1950.00. Jim made the motion to get the camera’s and was seconded by Chris, all in favor, motion carried.
Jim was informed that they added a few more miles to the Road Rally, he asked if the Board had a problem with that and everyone replied no.
CHIPSEAL QUOTE INCREASED
Jim Moraska told Darrell Kass at the Road Commission that the Board approved chip sealing Quarry Road at our April Board meeting. Since that quote was received, the price went up. A motion was made to approve the increased price by Kevin and seconded by Jerry motion carried.
MOTION TO PAY THE BILLS (ROLL CALL VOTE)
Motion was made to pay the bills by Chris and seconded by Kevin, Motion approved. Roll Call Vote: Jim, yes, Cherryl, yes, Jerry, yes, Chris, yes Kevin, yes, Motion approved.

A motion was made to adjourn by Chris with Jerry seconding. Meeting adjourned at 7:38 P.M. CST
