OLD BUSINESS:
ROAD RALLY
Spalding Township has put a lot of money into the roads last year and are requesting a Bond to cover any damage to the roads used for the rally. The Road Rally group doesn’t have thousands of dollars to repair the roads they damage. It was decided not to have the Road Rally in our Township this year. A motion to not allow the Road Rally this year was made by Chris and seconded by Cherryl, motion approved.
PARK PLATFORM
We haven’t seen any bids to build the Platform as of yet. What we are going to do is build the platform and the approach to the platform and the beach area, we’re not going to do the board walk. This really isn’t a good time of year to get bids.
NEW BUSINESS:
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS FOR JAN. ANNUAL ROAD MEETING
Jim got a letter from the Road Commission telling us when their meeting are with the Townships and our meeting is Jan 25th at 8:30 AM. We’re not going to get a lot done on our roads because they did so much this last year. The only thing we might get is if we do some chip sealing.
BACK UP GENERATOR INFO
Chris is meeting with Wolverine Power out of Marquette on Dec 28th at 10”00. They want to look at it before they give us a quote.
ARKENS / LABELLE RD STOP SIGN
The stop sign needs to be clear out, you can’t see it for the trees.
MOTION TO PAY THE BILLS (ROLL CALL VOTE)
Motion was made to pay the bills by Chris and seconded by Jerry, Motion approved. Roll Call Vote: Jim, yes, Cherryl, yes, Jerry, yes, Chris, yes, Kevin, yes, Motion approved.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Gerald asked about in Kell road, 3 different companies hauled out of there making it worse. Jim said he would get ahold of the road commission. Also he’d like someone to check the bridge just before the main highway. Heavy trucks hauled over it all summer and both sides are weak. Jim stated he would look into that.
ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWNSHIP
