Memo #1 Grants
Rich as asked to apply for another grant for the March cycle. The grant request amount is for $2000.00 to cover two emergency scene ahead signs, traffic cones, and a led light tower with extra battery. This project should outfit each of our trucks with the equipment needed so there is no truck without traffic safety equipment for fire calls or traffic calls. We did receive the award announcement for $2000.00 which was mailed on May 8, 2020. The equipment has been ordered last week.
I have the AFG Grant ready for submission for a new fire engine to replace Engine #1 in the amount of $375,000.00. Our share of the grant if awarded will be $17,857.14. Waiting on the award announcement.
Subject:Memo #2 Tree for David LeBoeuf
We are asking permission for the fire department to purchase a tree to plant at the park for David. We were possibly thinking a maple or red maple. We would need to know the location it should be planted if this is approved. A motion was made by Jim and seconded by Kevin, motion carried.
Gerald had David’s burial and one coming up on Sat. It was noted that the LeBouef family had overpaid for David’s burial and a $200.00 refund will be paid back to the family. Jim wanted to discuss the use of our new burial platform. There is some quirks that need to be worked out.
The campground is starting to get busy. Weekends for the pavilion is starting to fill in. Jim has some work he wants to do in the campground but hasn’t had the time.

ROAD GRAVEL INFORMATION and 400 ROAD GRANT
The road commission did the lift out there and did almost all the crushed limestone. A local resident was upset and complained about the Road commission people being there. Gravel was applied to the River road and suppose to also do some on the Sand road as well. The money for the project was part of a grant Jim applied for and received from the Hannahville Indian community 2% grant, also add our township did get some shoulder work done and we hope several roads in our township will get much needed gravel this year. the road commission has a list from 3 years ago that was never done.
