The meeting was brought to order by Supervisor Moraska. The following Board members were present: Jim Moraska, Jerry Bartnicki, Cherryl Mencinger, Kevin LaBonte and Chris LeBoeuf. Guests included: Gerald Kleiman, Jim Nowack, and Dan Hammerberg.
No Public Comment
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:
The motion was made by Chris to approve the agenda with Kevin supporting. All in favor, Aye, Motion carried.
All bills are up to date. A motion was made to accept the Clerks Report by Chris and was seconded by Kevin. Kevin and Chris looked over the expense statements. Minutes of the monthly meetings can be viewed on the Township website located at www.powers-spalding.org Motion approved.
Jerry gave the financial hand out showing the Township’s monthly balances and went over the report. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Cherryl and seconded by Jim. All in favor, Aye. Motion approved.

FIRE REPORT/FIRE CHIEF & FIRE DEPT:
The Department responded to 4 calls costing $0 dollars in losses and spending a total of 4 hours and 40 minutes.

Memo #1 Grants
Rich as asked to apply for another grant for the March cycle. The grant request amount is for $2000.00 to cover two emergency scene ahead signs, traffic cones, and a led light tower with extra battery. All equipment has been ordered and is in. The final report has been made to Hannahville by Rich.
AFG Grants I have the AFG Grant ready for submission for a new fire engine to replace Engine #1 in the amount of $375,000.00. Our share of the grant if awarded will be $17,857.14. Waiting on the award announcement.
I did apply for 2 dual band portable radios as first priority and one dual band portable radio as a second priority. We are waiting on the award announcement.
Gerald stated he had a couple burials this past month with two coming up this next week. A problem with Block 3 with burials and a large spruce tree. The tree will have to be removed and the stumps ground out in order to allow the burials. Jim stated that when the time comes, the tree will have to be removed.
Jim stated that the campground has been busy. We have one camper that requested to stay longer, past the park closing date. She will have to start looking for more permanent place to stay.
No report was presented. John did tell Jim that the AMARs report went well, he said he’s now waiting for the letter on the results.

Jim questioned if we were going to use the platform. Jim questioned if it was paid. No, it wasn’t paid, Cherryl was waiting for the direction that it was ok to pay it. Kevin said he would forward the bill to me and I can send the check to SG Burials.
LATEST CORONA VIRUS TESTING
They tested around 9 people, a lot of people’s insurance won’t cover it.
ROAD SIGNS NEEDED
Jim gave the Board a copy of all the road signs that need to be replaced or were missing. Tens signs are going to be ordered. A motion was made by Chris and seconded by Jerry to buy the signs.
WILLY GRONDIN LANE GRAVEL (PIT RUN)
Willy Grondin called and said the trucks are having a problem on that road. It’s on the boarder between Spalding and Meyer Townships. Jim spoke with Bob Smith and Bob felt that because all the homes were on the Spalding side he felt it should be Spalding’s responsibility. Jim wants to wait and look at the road next spring and see what needs to be done.

That has been done and turned into Hannahville
BUG BLASTER (SPRAYING FOR FLIES)
Jim is questioning if we should be doing this again this year.
BUDGET STABILIZATION RESOLUTION
Jerry stated we have money sitting in the budget stabilization fund, he checked with our auditor and he said we are well within our rights to transfer it back into the general fund. A motion was made by Jim to adopt a resolution to transfer the funds back into the general fund and was seconded by Jerry. Roll call vote, Jim, yes, Cherryl, yes, Jerry, yes, Kevin, yes and Chris, yes, Motion carried.
Cherryl looked into a printer that would print all the names and addresses to put on my ballots in place of hand writing all the names and addresses. Jim made a motion to buy the printer with Jerry supporting, all in favor, yes, motion carried.
CAMPING FEE’S AT VETERANS PARK
The fee for the Park is now $10.00. Jim questioned if we should increase the fees for next year. It was noted that our campground it primitive and just provides a camping site and portable water. A motion was made by Kevin to keep the price the same, seconded by Jerry, motion carried.
QUARRY ROAD DETOUR
Jim stated that the road has been changed quite a bit in preparation for a detour needed for next year.
NATHAN SJOHOLM HOUSE
It’s on the corner of Elm and Hemlock Street, we’re getting quite a few complaints on the condition of the house. Jerry called to Menominee to find out about the taxes. The home belongs to Nathan Sjoholm. The water is shut off for the house. Jim is waiting on the credit union to find out what will need to be done.
MOTION TO PAY THE BILLS (ROLL CALL VOTE)
Motion was made to pay the bills by Kevin and seconded by Chris. Motion approved. Roll Call Vote: Jim, yes, Cherryl, yes, Jerry, yes, Kevin, yes, Chris, yes, Motion approved.
Jim Nowack questioned about the culverts on River Road by the Cemetery. The company working out there will be taking care of it. Dan question the graveling on Juno road up in LaBranch. Jim stated that it was graveled last year. Gerald asked if we can get a drill bit to use to clean the flagpoles at the Cemetery. Jim Nowack said he would look into who would have these.
