The meeting was brought to order by Supervisor Moraska. The following Board members were present: Jim Moraska, Jerry Bartnicki, Cherryl Mencinger, Chris LeBoeuf and Kevin LaBonte. Guests included: Gerald Kleiman, Jim Nowack, Leon Felch, Dan Hammerberg, and Larry Johnson.

APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:
The motion was made by Kevin to approve the agenda with Jerry supporting.
All bills are up to date. A motion was made to accept the Clerks Report by Jim and was seconded by Kevin. Kevin and Chris looked over the expense statements. Minutes of the monthly meetings can be viewed on the Township website located at www.powers-spalding.org
Jerry gave the financial hand out showing the Township’s monthly balances and went over the report. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Chris and seconded by Cherryl.
All is well at both taverns and at the grocery store for August.
FIRE REPORT/FIRE CHIEF & FIRE DEPT:
The Department responded to 2 calls costing 0 dollars in losses and spending a total of 1 hour and 42 minutes.

Subject: Memo #1 Grants
We did receive an application for the 2022 VFA DNR grant. I did submit the grant application for various hand tools and equipment in the total amount of approximately $4500.00. We were notified we did receive this grant. We have been working on the equipment list and will be working toward ordering the equipment. We have ordered some of the equipment and some is currently being delivered.
2021 AFG Grant
We were fortunate that they extended the grant application deadline to January 21, 2022. I submitted the application for a new fire engine to replace Engine 1 with an amount of $375,000. Our cost share if awarded is $17,857.14. The application was submitted on January 18, 2022. Waiting on award announcement. Announcements have started, no word yet.
We put in a grant for some mechanic tools for the station. Received notification we were awarded the grant. All of the tools are purchased and in. The final grant paperwork has been submitted to Hannahville by Rich. This closes out this grant.
The grass has been slowing down. Park is quiet and the restrooms have been staying relatively clean.
Since our last meeting there have been only one sale in the Township.
RESOLUTION TO LIMIT DAYS AT THE PARK INFO NEEDED
Chris brought up limiting the days allowed to be camping with an amount of time allowed to return.
TIMBER CUT AT THE PARK
Larry Johnson is looking into this with a forester and will get back to the Township.

DISCUSS COUNTY ARPA FUNDS AND RD. COMMISSION CHARGES
This was discussed earlier and everyone is understanding as to where our monies have gone.
DISCUSS ORDINANCE TO RESTRICT TRAFFIC BY HEAVY MACHINES ON CERTAIN ROADS IN SPALDING TOWNSHIP
The Road Commission has asked to put up signs to enforce this on Pine Avenue and Quarry Rd. Signs will be ordered to enforce this. A motion was made by Chris to buy the needed signs and seconded by Kevin. All in favor, Aye and no nays.
Graveled roads that are done are River Road, Spur Road, Oro Road later this year, Birch Rd, Balsam Ln North, LaCount Road, Ekberg Road, Normenco Road, and Grondine Road later this year.
Trying to get the pigeons out of the Retail yard by Ceder Bend, by boxing in the eaves.

Motion was made to pay the bills by Chris and seconded by Kevin, Motion approved. Roll Call Vote: Jim, yes, Cherryl, yes, Jerry, yes, Chris, yes, Kevin, yes, Motion approved.
Is there anything we can do to save all the gravel that was just put down? Jim said he would talk to the grader drivers.
ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWNSHIP
The Election went pretty smooth. We had a total of 356 voters, 208 absent voters applications were mailed out and 180 applications were returned.
A motion was made to adjourn by Cherryl with Chris seconding. Meeting adjourned at 7:09 P.M. CST
